SUMMARY:Solstice of Peace
DESCRIPTION:ZOOM LINK\n\nInfo about Solstice of Peace\, or Register an event for the Solstice of Peace! \n\nJoin Sheikh Ghassan Manasra\, David Less\, and the Abrahamic Reunion for a special peace event\, as part of the Solstice of Peace\, a global night of peace.\n\nMEDITATION ~ CHANTING ~ PRAYER ~ CONTEMPLATION\n\nThe Solstice Peace Project is calling for events around the world during the Solstice\, the longest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere\, and shortest night in the Global South.\nINFO: https://solsticepeace.org/ \nCONTACT: Chris@abrahamicreunion.org \n\n\n\n\n\nSolstice Prayer Project\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTo celebrate peace on the Dec. 22\, the Winter Solstice\, the day that heralds the return of the light in the Northern Hemisphere. The project would use the solstice  to prompt linked actions worldwide that encourage peace. \nThere is a heaviness touching the hearts of people worldwide.  It not just the wars in Europe\, the Middle East and Africa. It’s because we are connected on so many different levels and feel each other’s distress deeply. This is why we can lighten the world’s burden by praying for peace and performing actions – both symbolic and substantial in their hopefulness – to promote peace. We can emphasize the power of peace by focusing on peace and amplifying its impact by coming together to call for peace.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Roots\n\n\n\n\nThe Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere is traditionally a time for welcoming back the light. Winter Solstice: honoring the Return of Light.   \nIt is also a time of specific observances in various religious traditions\, including Hannukah (Dec. 7-15 2023)\, Christmas (Dec. 25\, 2023)\, Bodhi Day (Dec. 8\, 2023) and Yalda Night (Dec. 20-21) in Iran and other parts of Central Asia.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAction Needed\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThese actions would focus only on peace\, eschewing politics and the taking of sides.  \n\n\n\n\n1\n\n\n\n\nTo reach out to religious community leaders to ask for their support. To request religious leaders to encourage their congregations to hold services for peace on Dec. 22\, 2023.  As it is a Friday\, mosques and synagogues will be holding services anyway.  We would encourage the addition of a special Friday service for Christians and the holding of special services in Hindu and Buddhist temples and Sikh gurdwaras. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n2\n\n\n\n\nTo invite communities worldwide to hold an event promoting peace on Dec. 22\, the day that heralds the return of the light in the Northern Hemisphere. The event could take be in any form –  a religious service\, a concert\, a reading\, a moment of communal silence\, \n\n\n\n\n3\n\n\n\n\nTo encourage people to place a candle in their window to promote peace on the night of Dec. 21-21 as a symbol of the presence of peace and to encourage the promotion of peace. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Goal\n\n\n\n\nTo ignite the light of peace in the hearts of participants and to encourage the spread of peace at a time of increasing conflict and violence.

Many people think there will never be peace in the Holy Land\, just as many believe we will never have peace throughout the world. But communal prayer and meditation\, with a focus on the common good\, can create the shift in consciousness that we all seek. \nAt each Online Unity Prayer for the Holy Land\, religious leaders and holy peacemakers in Israel and Palestine will join together on zoom and lead 30 minutes of prayer. \nThese meetings will begin at 6:00 pm in the Holy Land\, which is 4 pm in London\, and 11 am EDT. \nDavid Less\, AR Board Chairman\, and Sheikh Ghassan Manasra\, AR International Director\, will virtually host on-site Muslim\, Jewish\, Christian\, and Druze prayer leaders as well as one spiritual musician in the Holy Land. \nPlease join us. The addition of your prayer energy will help build the change we all seek. \nPeace\, Salaam\, Shalom \n  \nClick here to download Zoom video conferencing software for free\nClick here to join the Zoom Meeting \nZoom Link and Call-in Information: \nAbrahamic Reunion is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting. \nTopic: Unity Prayer for the Holy Land\nTime: Apr 16\, 2020 11:00 AM Eastern Time (US and Canada)\nEvery 2 weeks on Thu\, 4 occurrence(s)\nApr 16\, 2020 11:00 AM\nApr 29\, 2020 11:00 AM\nMay 13\, 2020 11:00 AM\nMay 27\, 2020 11:00 AM\nPlease download and import the following iCalendar (.ics) files to your calendar system.\nWeekly: https://zoom.us/meeting/uZYsceqqqzIqKmrOIEgiWKQ4vTdF0feahg/ics?icsToken=98tyKu2qrz0pGNGcsFzta7UqE538b-HIk1pDuIx0uRjsNAtiNhXCMsQSNLd-GN-B \nJoin Zoom Meeting\nhttps://zoom.us/j/421632590 \nMeeting ID: 421 632 590\nOne tap mobile\n+13126266799\,\,421632590# US (Chicago)\n+16468769923\,\,421632590# US (New York) \nDial by your location\n+1 312 626 6799 US (Chicago)\n+1 646 876 9923 US (New York)\n+1 346 248 7799 US (Houston)\n+1 669 900 6833 US (San Jose)\n+1 253 215 8782 US\n+1 301 715 8592 US\nMeeting ID: 421 632 590\nFind your local number: https://zoom.us/u/abD9VDj7A \nBios\n \nDavid Less\nUS Board Chair \n\n\nDavid Less is a global teacher of meditation and interfaith dialog of over forty years.
