Dear Friends of Peace Around the World,
The Parliament of the World’s Religions, which is now held every three years, will be celebrated in Toronto the first week of November 2018.
As in the past four parliaments, the Abrahamic Reunion will be offering four special programs. We are flying in peacemakers from Palestine and Israel, Europe, and North America, to share our process of bringing together people of diverse religious backgrounds to work towards spiritual unity and peace.
Because we are predominantly funded by individuals, we are asking for help. Our budget for the parliament is $30,000. We know that many of you have been our support in the past and we thank you for that. However, in these troubled times we must maintain a vision of peace and a means whereby understanding among diverse groups can grow.
In the last two years, the Abrahamic Reunion has become much more successful, and has developed a higher profile, especially in the Middle East. It is wonderful to see some of the fruits of our efforts and, at the same time, it is difficult to keep reaching out for help.
But during these times, our cause is more important than ever.
The Parliament is important because we have a chance to refute the cynical and inaccurate point of view that the situation in the Holy Land is hopeless by showing Israelis and Palestinians standing together, holding hands as a family, and expressing the hope and love that is the heart of what the Abrahamic Reunion represents and spreads in the world.
We will have the opportunity to present to 10,000 people who will then carry the experience back to their host countries and religious institutions. This is the way our story will spread.
