Greetings everyone,
I’m David Less, and I’m the Chairman of the Board of the Abrahamic Reunion in the US.
We’ve been working very hard for the last year and a half to foster the cause of peace in the Holy Land at this time of this terrible war, and I wanted to express my thanks to all of you who helped us get through this, and share some of the wonderful things that happened during this terrible, terrible time.
As many of you know, our International Director, Ghassan Manasra, made many trips between North America and Israel, spent many many many hours, day and night, on phone, zoom, and in person, meeting with anyone who could help promote the cause of peace.
It’s a little awkward because I can’t say the names of the people he me or what he did, but what he did by being so involved, and so consistent with a message of peace, was to help bring about the idea that finally a ceasefire could occur, he helped with the negotiations between the different sides. He helped by hosting the prayer vigils, so people all over the world could pray for this ceasefire, and pray for peace in this holy, holy land.
We also managed to have some projects during this very difficult time. We brought people together – Muslims, Christians, Jews, and Druze. We brought them together. We had evenings of music, of conversation, we had times of prayer, we brought young people together, and it’s been very difficult and traumatic for the young people there.
We just kept upholding this flag of peace, this flag of hope, and sure enough, the situation has changed, in a positive way.
So I want to thank Ghassan Manasra, the great sheikh did so much work for the last year and a half. I want to thank all our supporters. I want to thank Abed Manasra, who also did so much work, Chris Miller, and also of course the Board in Israel, the Board in Germany, the work that Michael Macy did in England, and of course the Board in North America.
So thank you all. Great things are happening, and we look for great things to happen in the future, too.
