Greetings everyone,

My name is Shahabuddin David Less. I was one of the founders of the Abrahamic Reunion 20 years ago. The idea was bringing people together who don’t know each other, who have different stories about each other, who have suffered from each other. Bring people together, let them speak together, eat together, breathe together, get to know each other. Drop down some of the walls that separate us.

Well, we’ve had a difficult year in Israel and Gaza, and the whole Middle East. The war has polarized some, but it has brought others more together. And those who came together needed some kind of guiding light, they needed some people to stand up and say, “Yes, it really can be peaceful here.” And that guiding light was the AR, through all of 2024.

Right now, I’m sitting in Shetland, in Scotland, a land of peace. I was just out walking with sheep and beautiful nature. And, the same can be true in the Holy Land. It is a land that can show the world the way to peace.

So, what have we done this year? We’ve worked with young people, sometimes online, sometimes in person, which required a lot of courage on their part. We worked with women, with clergy. We worked with Palestinians, with Israelis, with Jews, Muslims, Christians, and Druze, to try to remind people what this world could be: A world of peace. A world of love. Not a world of violence.

We need your help. We need your support. We’ve done a lot with very little funding.

I don’t know why we don’t get more funding, but maybe it’s to make us strong, and imaginative, and passionate. And we are. But, we really need your help now for the year to come so we can take the next step and really make peace a reality, not just a concept. Not just a dream, but a reality.

Please help us.

Peace to all of you. Happy New Year, Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Good Kwanza.

Most importantly, salam and shalom. Peace. Peace. Peace.
